As we age, our skin loses its tone, texture, and elasticity. Fine lines and wrinkles, telltale signs of skin damage and aging, develop around the corners of the mouth and the lips. Facial lines can also be caused by the repeated use of the facial muscles in a particular manner. Just as a freshly ironed shirt will become severely creased with repeated usage, in a similar way our facial lines form as we frown, squint or smile. While we cannot indefinitely stop the ageing process, lines can be softened by various means. Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours.
Nasolabial lines (smile lines) that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth
Marionette lines at the corner of the mouth
Lip contouring
Cheek enhancements

Dermal Filler Information
Dermafillers (Juvederm®/Boletero®/Perfectha®/Teosyal®/Aliaxin® etc.) are crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gels based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid that has been stabilised for longevity. These gels are injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. When injected into the skin, they produce volume that smoothes wrinkles or folds, shapes facial contours or enhances the lips in a natural way. These products can also be combined with local anaesthetic to reduce the discomfort following their injection.
Immediately after the treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising and an itching sensation at the treated area. This is a normal result of the injections. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. If these symptoms continue, or if other reactions occur, please contact the clinic (via telephone or email). Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. sun or solarium) or extreme cold.
After injection with dermal fillers, you should avoid touching the treated area for approximately 6 hours. After that, a light make-up can be applied and the area can be gently washed with a mild soap. Following treatment to the lips, swelling may take up to a week to settle, and the lips can look somewhat uneven. The result directly after the treatment should not, therefore, be looked upon as the final result.
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another cold sore eruption. If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Finally, since dermal filler is a natural substance which dissolves over time, the benefit does not last forever. Most people choose to be treated again within 6 -12 months of the original treatment.
